Melanie Moore
Executive Director
The founder of Badgerdog Literary Publishing, Melanie Moore has served as executive director since the organization’s inception. Previously she had a twelve-year career at large and small high-tech companies in Atlanta, Georgia, and Austin Texas. Her career spanned disciplines including Research and Development, Technical Publications Management, Marketing, and most recently, Sales Relationship Management where she led her company in revenue attainment. Melanie holds an Associate of Arts degree in English from Young Harris College, a Bachelor of Science in English Education from the University of Georgia in Athens, and a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Melanie has been a professional writer since the age of 16 when she wrote for her hometown newspaper, the Press-Sentinel in Jesup, Georgia. She edited a college paper, interned as news editor of the Camden County Tribune, and served on the Georgia College Press Association Board of Directors. Her stint in journalism included work as staff writer for the Marietta Daily Journal and associate editor of Georgia’s United Methodist news weekly, in addition to freelance work published in local Atlanta publications including Atlanta Magazine and Creative Loafing. Melanie lives, writes, plays golf, and attempts sprint-distance triathlons in Austin, Texas.
