RISE Session Policies

Terms of Use

RISE is designed to be an educational conference that is free and open to all registrants. RISE, at its sole discretion, may accept or reject a registration application (session host or registrant) for any or no reason. RISE, at its sole discretion, may reject a previously accepted registration application for any or no reason at any time.

RISE sessions are small gatherings intended to foster an exchange of information and build relationships among the participants. Thus, attendance at the sessions is limited. In order to encourage attendance at sessions, a registrant who registers for a session and fails to attend will be charged a $20.00 fee, unless the registrant notifies RISE at least 36 hours (3 days) in advance that he/she will be unable to attend the session. To notify RISE of a session cancellation, please call 512-485-2574 or email info@riseaustin.org at least 36 hours (3 days) in advance of the session. Registrants may not send substitute individuals to attend sessions in their place.

RISE maintains waiting lists for sessions that are full. When a spot becomes available due to a cancellation, RISE will notify individuals on the session waiting list via email that a spot has become available. RISE will reserve open spots on a first responder basis.

To the extent reasonably practicable, all registrants will be notified in advance in the unlikely event of any changes to session dates, times, and/or venues. Registrants who are unable to attend a session on a changed date, time, or location will not be charged the $20.00 fee for not attending.

Registrants are responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance coverage in connection with their attendance at RISE sessions. RISE shall not be liable for any loss or damage to registrants’ arising out of registrants’ attendance at the sessions. Session registrants shall be responsible for any and all losses caused by them to a session host’s property or the session venue.

Registrants acknowledge that any reliance on any such opinion, advice, statement, memorandum, report, or information shall be at the registrants’ sole risk. RISE shall not be liable for any infringement of third-party rights by a RISE session host or registrant.
