Casablanca in 3D!? “SOCIAL meets MEDIA” explores the state of the current digital video landscape - from business to entertainment – and how social media platforms like YouTube, Hulu and UStream.TV have forever changed the way we produce and consume content. Learn about innovations and opportunities on the horizon for digital video devices. Conversation will also include how - and when - to use digital video to build your brand, product overviews, and which tools are right for you.

New Media Producer
ABOUT THE HOST
Juan Garcia is an award-winning media producer, entrepreneur and consultant focusing on the convergence of media and social networks. He is the executive producer and creator of the "SFS TV" video podcast, a pioneer program devoted to showcasing international student films as well as giving university students hands-on experience in media production. Correspondingly, he serves as a New Media Producer for the University of Texas where he has helped launch a series of educational podcasts and digital media marketing campaigns. Along with his work, Juan has served on the board of directors for the Austin Museum of Digital Art, Mobile Film School and Austin School of Film. In 2007 he was the Youth Media Program Chair for the National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture Conference and has been previously invited to speak about new media trends for various organizations, including Apple, Leadership Austin, and the World E-Democracy Forum in Paris, France.
