ABOUT THIS SESSION

MicroMentor is a free online service that connects small business owners with business mentors. MicroMentor puts experience to work by offering business professionals meaningful volunteer opportunities and by offering entrepreneurs one-on-one advice to help build successful businesses. Our mission is to help small businesses grow faster, generate more revenue, and employ more people. We make it easy to be a mentor, find a mentor, and build a business.

BCL of Texas will be hosting a workshops to educate people about MicroMentor: a mentoring relationship resource and register people online.

ABOUT THE HOST
Ms. Valdez is a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Business Administration, concentration in marketing and management. Raquel has expertise in business development, financial readiness counseling for small businesses, consumer product development, customer relations and market planning. She has almost five years experience in working with non profit organizations, economic development, data collection and analysis, regional homeownership promotion/preservation and marketing strategies. Raquel is the Director of Corporate Strategies at Business & Community Lenders (BCL) of Texas and leads BCL’s community development line of business which includes the City of Austin BizAid program. Raquel also acts as a full service loan officer for BCL’s loan portfolio, which include SBA 504, micro lending, and additional loan programs. Ms. Valdez is a small business owner with retail sales in the Middle and Lower Rio Grande Valley.
