A panel of funders discusses funding social entrepreneurs in Austin


A panel of philanthropic and social funders will discuss their thoughts on the funding available to social entrepreneurs in Austin, investments they have made in social entrepreneurs, and what it will take to get more capital flowing to social entrepreneurs in our region. There will be plenty of time for audience questions, so come learn from these funders of social enterprise about what they look for in potential investments, where they think the funding marketplace is going and more. Panelist include Suzi Sosa from MPower Foundation, Philip Berber from A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, Chris Earthman from the Aragona Family Foundation, Scott Collier from Triton Ventures, and Ross Garber from the Garber Family Foundation.

Nell Edgington is President of Social Velocity ( a consulting firm that accelerates social innovation by leading nonprofits to greater social impact and sustainability. Prior to launching Social Velocity, Nell led teams and strategic planning efforts, raised over $5 million annually, recruited and trained top talent and won national awards in nonprofit organizations in Oregon, Texas and Washington, DC, including PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) headquarters. She holds an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
